There are three common ways to load a grease gun: bulk, suction, and cartridge.
To load a grease gun using the bulk method, you need to separate the grease gun head from the barrel. Then insert the open end of the barrel into a container of grease and slowly draw back on the plunger rod to fill the reservoir. Once the plunger rod has been fully withdrawn, lift the open end of the barrel out of the container of grease and reattach the barrel of the grease gun to the head of the grease gun.
To load a grease gun using suction fill, you need to pull back the plunger and lock it at the notch. Then unscrew the nozzle end and place the open end of the grease tube over the hole and push the grease from the tub to the gun.
To load a grease gun using a cartridge, you need to unscrew the cartridge cap and remove any remaining grease from the old cartridge. Then insert a new cartridge and screw on the barrel until it seats against the head.
