Key Features of Our Drill Bits
-
Material Specificity: We offer tailored drill bits for every application. Choose from brad-point bits for splinter-free wood boring, carbide-tipped masonry bits for brick and concrete, and cobalt or titanium-coated drill bits for penetrating tough metals.
-
Durability and Performance: Our professional-grade drill bits are engineered to withstand high temperatures and intense friction. This ensures a longer lifespan, faster drilling speeds, and less frequent replacements on the job site.
-
Comprehensive Sets: To cover all bases, we stock a huge variety of drill bits in convenient multi-piece sets. Housed in durable, jobsite-ready cases, these sets keep your essential accessories perfectly organised and protected in your tool bag.
Drill Bits FAQs
What type of drill bits do I need for drilling into metal?
For metalworking, you should use High-Speed Steel (HSS) drill bits or Cobalt drill bits. Cobalt bits are particularly effective for drilling into harder metals, such as stainless steel or cast iron, because they dissipate heat rapidly and maintain their sharp cutting edge for much longer.
Can I use a masonry bit on wood?
No, it is highly recommended that you don't. Masonry drill bits feature a blunt, spade-like carbide tip designed specifically to hammer and crush concrete or brick. If used on wood, they will aggressively tear the material and leave a very rough, splintered hole. Always use a dedicated wood drill bit for timber.
Will these drill bits fit my power drill?
Most standard drill bits feature a cylindrical or hex shank that fits universally into any standard 3-jaw chuck (the type found on most combi drills and drill drivers). However, if you are using a heavy-duty SDS rotary hammer drill, you will specifically need SDS-Plus or SDS-Max drill bits, which feature a specialised slotted shank to securely lock into the tool.
