HCS, or High Carbon Steel, is best suited to softer materials such as soft plastics, softwood, and fibreboards because it is less durable than HSS and dulls faster. High-speed steel, on the other hand, can be used with a wider variety of materials like metal sheets thanks to it’s harder and more durable construction.
