This model also offers both Makita’s exclusive "Automatic Torque Drive Technology" or ADT technology, which allows for the automatic adjustments of the  speed and torque, and the "Active Feedback sensing Technology" or AFT, that turns the motor off if rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to stop. 

In addition, this model is powered with Makita's BL Brushless Motor which eliminates carbon brushes, allowing it to run cooler and more efficiently for a prolonged battery life.
