The trimmer base can dip up to 40mm, while the plunge base can plunge up to 35mm. The pre-glow and after-glow features of the LED job light make it easier to work in poorly lit environments.

Makita has developed many measures to improve safety. The electronic brake will prevent it from spinning out of control in the event of a sudden halt, while the soft brake will lessen damage to the work material. These, along with anti-restart and soft start features, give the RT001GZ20 the ability to be both safe and user-friendly.
