Spirit Level Features

Exceptional Accuracy

Our professional spirit levels are designed to deliver flawless accuracy, typically to within ±0.5mm/m. With precision-milled measuring surfaces, you can trust your spirit level to provide reliable, true readings for perfect levelling and plumbing every single time.

Durable Construction

Built for the rigours of the modern job site, our spirit levels feature robust aluminium box profiles, heavy-duty I-beam frames, and shock-absorbing end caps. This rugged construction protects the tool from drops and impacts, ensuring the vials inside your spirit level remain perfectly calibrated.

High-Visibility Vials

Work efficiently in any lighting condition. Many of our premium spirit levels feature solid acrylic, UV-resistant vials with high-contrast bubble fluid, making it incredibly easy to read measurements quickly and accurately from multiple angles without glare.

Magnetic Options

For steel erectors, scaffolders, and metalworkers, a magnetic spirit level is an invaluable asset. Featuring strong rare-earth magnets embedded in the base, these handy tools grip securely to metal surfaces, leaving your hands entirely free to adjust and fix materials perfectly in place.

Spirit Level FAQs

How do I check if my spirit level is accurate?

To test your spirit level, place it on a flat, stable surface and note exactly where the bubble rests within the vial lines. Then, rotate the level 180 degrees horizontally and place it back in the exact same spot. If the bubble sits in the exact same position both times, your spirit level is accurate.

What size spirit level do I need?

The ideal length depends entirely on the job. A 600mm or 1200mm spirit level is highly versatile and perfect for general carpentry, hanging doors, and installing cabinets. For long spans like bricklaying, floor joists, or large landscaping projects, an 1800mm or 2000mm level is recommended to accurately bridge the distance. For tight spaces, a 250mm pocket or torpedo level is best.

What is a torpedo spirit level used for?

A torpedo spirit level (sometimes referred to as a scaffolders level) is a compact, highly portable tool, typically around 25 cm long. They very often feature magnetic bases and are ideal for working in tight, confined spaces where a standard-length spirit level won't fit, such as when plumbing pipework, setting scaffolding tubes, or doing electrical conduit installation.

Is an I-beam or box section spirit level better?

A box section spirit level is generally considered stronger and more resistant to twisting and bending, making it the preferred choice for heavy-duty construction and bricklaying. An I-beam spirit level is generally lighter and often slightly cheaper, making it a great option for general DIY use or tasks where weight is a primary concern.
